Queer owned and operated Revry TV is the premiere queer digital media network and it is already making a difference. Dedicated to delivering authentic LGBTQ programming, Revry already reaches up to 70 million people in 116 countries, including unlikely countries like Saudi Arabia and even China. Yes, Revry has programming in Mandarin.
Revry TV, the first global queer streaming service, is the brain child of Damian Pelliccione (CEO) and Christopher Rodriguez (CBO and an entertainment lawyer). Long-time partners, they started Revry out of their living room in response to a need they perceived in media.
Then Pelliccione and Rodriguez brought in two talented women of color as co-founders to help implement the vision: queer ally COO Alia J. Daniels, and lesbian CPO LaShawn McGhee. What they’ve created just may be the future of television.
The platform has gained momentum largely because the quartet see things from the viewers’ point of view. They are acutely aware, for example, that LGBTQ characters in film and TV are still extremely underdeveloped for the most part, and underrepresented when they do appear. Revry TV is determined to create programming that changes that.
The network constantly adds programming, creating new podcasts like Do Not Disturb with YouTube sensation Foxy (also called Jade) and Butch and the Bear with A.B. Cassidy and Daniel Franzese of Mean Girls.
Revry original programming includes the acclaimed film Room to Grow, the series Before I Got Famous, and a comedy that might remotely be a 21st century “Friends” with a cast of queers of color.
