Sincere congratulations to Sir David Beckham! On June 12, 2025, the legendary soccer player was at last knighted for his contributions to sports and a number of humanitarian endeavors, officially making Posh Spice Lady Victoria Beckham.
To be sure, Sir David Beckham, 50, has served for 20 years as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, helped found the charity Malaria No More UK’s leadership council, and last he became a representative of the King's Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to education and providing sustainable solutions to facilitate harmonious living.
Sir David, one of the world’s best-known soccer players, was delighted with the honor: "Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British, I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honor. To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true.
"I'm so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I'm grateful to be recognized for work that gives me so much fulfillment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in…."
The sports icon was presented with an Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth in 2003, an honor just short of knighthood.
Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet were also in attendance for the awards ceremony at the celebration of the 35th anniversary of The King's Foundation, along with Stanley Tucci, Alan Titchmarsh and Penny Lancaster.
Approximately 200 guests enjoyed a large birthday cake, bag pipes and a live orchestra.
